‘Place’ and ‘Path Dependence‘ matter- Non-academic: your location and your lived experiences shape the ‘person’ you are.
A-LEAF (Legacy) was started due to a meeting of two MSc Social Innovation graduates. I-David had a seat (2022/23) on the Scottish Government’s Human Rights bill lived experience board, because of ‘Place‘; Alliance Scotland membership & ‘Path Dependence‘; Medulloblastoma childhood cancer.
Yes, I had a brain tumor (Medulloblastoma) at the age of four. I also had a stroke at about the same age. As a result, there are things I cannot do.

Instead of focusing on what I cannot do, let us focus on what I can do. I can:
- work. And have done so since the age of 17.
- Complete two undergraduate degrees.
- Complete an MSc in Social Innovation.
- Walk the West Highland Way.
- Start my own company.
- Boxfit (badly).
- non-academic research.
- come up with innovative ideas
